Thank you to Ros and Marcy for timekeeping. Our marshalls tonight were Brett Wheeler corner 1, Hannah Mitchell Roundabout, Dan Newman final left turn. Phillip Standfield took up a new position on the final corner to get the pictures π
On what didn’t feel like a quick night compared to last week with the fresh strong breeze, some riders made seemingly light work of the course.
The quickest on the TT bike and overall was Henry Austin. Only his 2nd occasion on the course and he put in an extremely quick 21:28. Matt Stanbury was on his way to a PB but being unlucky no.13 was curtailed by a lorry, but still set a very quick 22:12. Not far behind was PW & TT veteran Steven Pink with 22:32.
Michelle Lindley took the quickest female time. Following on from her incredible national 24-hour TT win, Michelle set a new PB (I believe) of 24:47. Close behind and only 6 seconds in front of 3rd, was Lauren Falconer with a 25:30. Louella Race Oherlihy on her first TT on the course set a very quick 25:36.
On the Road Bikes, Mark Valentine was the quickest on the night, setting a 23:50. In 2nd place was the powerhouse of Thomas Rigden, setting a new PB (I think, please confirm) of 24:43. Close behind in third was Christopher Tiernan with a 25:00.
A shout out to our two junior riders George Terry and Peter Sparrow. They have been super close all season! Peter pipped George to the quickest time by 12 seconds this week, setting a 24:24 and 24:36 respectively.
Thank you everyone for racing tonight. Only two more Wednesday evening TTs left. Next week, 1845 start time, same course. See you there π€ Pictures by Phil Standfield Sports Photography should be up tomorrow evening.
