Big thanks to everyone who came out for tonightâs club time trial!
First off, huge thanks to Ros and Marcy for timekeeping, and to our marshals Oli Gill, James Rowat, Andy Haas, and Alasdair Hitchin on the start line. The event genuinely couldnât have run without your supportâmassively appreciated đ Photo from Phil Standfield to posted here tomorrow đ¸
The weather turned out windier than forecast, and as the sun dropped, so did the temperature. Conditions werenât ideal for fast times, but that didnât stop a few from flying!
A well deserved shout out to Ben Ansell firstly , whoâs clearly made the most of a long winterâs training! He bagged a brand new PB tonight with 25:14. Iâm sure this wonât be the only PB this year.
Road Bike
Brett Wheeler is coming into formâover 20 seconds quicker than last week with a 21:42, taking the quickest time on the night đĽ
Fastest lady was Rowena Taylor, on her first evening TT of the season, clocking 28:05.
It was incredibly tight between 2nd and 3rd! Although Andy Pickett went 30 seconds quicker than last week, Ashley Newman just pipped him to second with 22:58 vs 23:02, respectively.
TT Bike
Robbie Fall edged out Martin Mitchell to take his first victory in the TT category, setting times of 23:35 and 23:47, respectively.
Rounding off the podium was Dawson Hardiman. On his first time racing the course, he clocked an impressive 24:46.
Robbie commented after the TT, despite remembering his cycling shoes this week, he was two seconds slower than when he wore his hiking shoes three weeks ago. Maybe Fizik, Bont et al. are missing something đ¤ˇââď¸
Enjoy the long Easter weekend. Same time, same place next weekâsee you then! đ¤
