A few local TTs this weekend saw Poole Wheelers take to the line in force πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ

Starting with an epic 50 mile TT on the P…. Lauren Bishop was representing PW and in her first 50 this year! Lauren set a 02:10:11 taking nearly 7 minutes of her best 50 mile TT time πŸ™Œ The time was quick enough to bag 4th lady overall 🎩 Β Regular club rider, Laura Daly also took to the start line, setting a 02:14:00.

Incredible to see riders taking on a 50 mile TT, they are great challenge for the riders. Following the race Lauren said

β€œMy expectations were somewhat high as I went into the day thinking ’this course is 10 minutes faster than the P417’ echoing in my brain. It wasn’t the fastest day as we grappled with a headwind into the northward sections of the course and I struggled badly on some of the uphill sections. I had my sights set on a 23mph average and after a slow start I never panicked and paced myself well to a 2:10:11 time – not the 10-minute dream but a comfortable PB shaving over 6 & a half minutes off of my previous 50 mile time.”

Closer to home, at the Bournemouth Arrow 10 mile Open on the P311 8 Poole Wheelers took to the start line. Kicking the gaggle of Wheelers, junior Peter Sparrow. On his return, his advice to everyone else, there is a stonking head wind on the return home πŸ’¨

Advice heeded, PW riders set some excellent times with 3 riders in the top 10!

Sam Wadsley, fresh of a 100 mile ride the day before 😱 was the quickest on the day setting a 20:53 to be fourth overall. Henry Austin then set a 22:04, taking 7th place.

Tim Flynn rounded out the top 10 to claim the quickest time on a Road Bike πŸ†

This was also enough for Poole Wheelers to claim the quickest team on the day ahead of VC St Raphael and New Forest CC πŸ™Œ

To round of a successful day Ben Ansell, fresh from setting a time of 25:40 and the 8th quickest RB time, also won a spot prize of Β£20.

Other Poole Wheelers on the day

Matt BlytheΒ  continued in good form with a 24:09

Mark Valentine on his RB set a 23:54

The ever present TT specialist Chris Hill set a 24:47

Ian was 23rd overall with a 26:10.
