Poole Wheelers were out at two national championships representing the club this weekend.
Firstly, Michelle Lindley was racing in the national 100-mile championships in Wales. One of the hardest distances in time trialling π―
The course was the R100/9, a great rolling course near Raglan / Abergavenny in South Wales, with only a minor headwind for the riders one way.
On the day, Michelle placed 3rd nationally, with an incredible time of 4 hours, 21 minutes, and 51 seconds π₯π
Michelle said on the Whats App group βSo chuffed the previous time I found was 4 hours 38 mins 35 back in 2006. Really over the moon.β

This is a huge achievement and well deserved. Congratulations Michelle!
National TTT
Two Poole Wheeler teams took on the National Team Trial course in Gloucester! A 25-mile TT over rolling roads proved to be a quick course π€
Β
Team 1 consisted of Tom Clements, Steve Pink, and Tim Flynn. Team 2, Robbie Fall, Peter Sparrow and Oliver Drew.
Team 2 were off first, the two juniors pulling Oli up the hills before his strong pulls on the flat. They set a competitive time of 1:02:07 to finish 14th.

Β
Off 15 minutes later, Team 1. Despite Tom breaking a front wheel spoke before mile 10, they set a super strong time of 54:31. This was enough to finish 6th overall!

Great day out racing against some of the best time triallists in the country. We even got a picture with Alex Dowsett! π€
